This soap is the best one I have found so far. I buy handmade soap every chance I get at farmers markets and indie stores because I like the way it makes my skin feel. When I saw this one advertised for its tallow, I ordered a few bars to check it out. I won't buy from anyone else now. This soap also makes my skin feel great, but, contrary to some of the other soaps I've tried, it doesn't get disintegrate so fast. One bar can last me a full 3 weeks showering everyday. Other indie soaps I've tried only last a week or so. And this soap also doesn't get soft or slimy. It stays being a hard bar of soap until the very end.
This handcrafted bar soap is made by me, Brittany, owner and artisan of Nefertem Naturals, the leaders in grass fed tallow skincare.
This soap in particular has a deep, woodsy, musky scent with a sweet undertone. It is energetically grounding, peaceful and inspiring.
Ingredients: Grass-fed tallow (hand-rendered by me and progressively filtered to minimize scent); organic extra virgin olive oil; organic coconut oil; purified water; sodium hydroxide; organic castor oil; organic unrefined shea butter; patchouli essential oil; cedarwood essential oil; frankincense essential oil; madder root powder (herbal colorant); red Moroccan clay(mineral colorant); cocoa powder; and positive intention (100% pure).
Great for face, body, hair AND shaving!
The clay makes a smooth glide for shaving and helps draw impurities from the skin. Clay is also said to replace missing minerals in the skin.
Even in hard water this soap lathers extremely well and will last for weeks if left to dry in between uses.
It is very rich and creamy and helps skin maintain hydration naturally. Because this soap does not dry out your skin, it makes an excellent all natural face wash, even for those with ultra-sensitive skin, acne, eczema or other skin ailment.
This soap is definitely considered an aromatherapy tool as the aroma is very powerful and uplifting. I use twice the industry standard of essential oils per pound which truly provides an aromatic experience like no other!
I work with a small family ranch that raises cattle the old-fashioned way: without human interruption, on green grass, with NO hormones or steroids and with respect. When the animal is processed for its beef, I receive the fat in raw form, render (simmer on low heat) the oil from it and purify it with progressively finer filters to minimize any odors. Then I freeze it to ensure it’s fresh as I make products throughout the year in small batches.
Nefertem Naturals mission is to bring the power of nature into daily routine and our products do just that!
*It is the nature of Nature to not duplicate herself exactly, therefore, our nature-derived soaps will also vary in appearance*

Why Use Tallow in Your Skin Care Routine?
Because there's NOTHING like it. Tallow (only grass fed tallow is as follows, conventionally farmed cows do not contain the following benefits, in fact, their fat is loaded with pesticides, hormones and GMO grain) is rich in vitamins A, D, E (a powerful antioxidant) and K, CLA (antitumor properties) and anti-microbial palmitoleic acid.
Our skin is biologically compatible with tallow in that they both contain 50-55% saturated fats (yes, these are the good fats) which help maintain skin cell integrity and tone. Tallow and sebum (the oily secretion of our skin's sebaceous glands) consist primarily of triglycerides which allow for easy absorption of nutrients even while bathing. The connection between our skin and tallow is so close, in fact, that the Latin word sebum actually means tallow!
Tallow has been used for thousands of years by the most advanced civilizations in the world. It was only around the 1950's that tallow was vilified by the vegetable oil producers and then quickly left our diets and skin care routines. Fortunately for us, modern scientific research is proving how beneficial grass fed tallow is for our diets and skincare regiment. We are now seeing the shift back to tallow. If you don't like patchouli, then don't get this. It's a straight up patchouli bar of soap...which is why we all love it so much. I got this soap after researching the benefits of grass fed tallow. I read through the website and really liked what the company stands for and their mission. I got just one to try it out and was so impressed, I bought 10 more the day after I used it. OMG, I'm telling you this soap is the sh*t!
